One of my goals for the summer was to get Ethan into swim lessons so he could learn some basic skills for the water and gain confidence. Last summer he had a little mishap at a lake and has been fearful of the water ever since that time. He was a bit hesitant to get into the water on the first lesson but he quickly became comfortable with his AWESOME instructor and having his three buddies, Jack, Jayden and Natalie in his class helped too. By the end of the week he was putting his head into the water on his own and was looking forward to going to the pool!
A side note … as I was trying to sign up for swim lessons I was sadly overcome by the high prices of swim lessons. Luckily a friend told me about Splash Week at the Y. Every year the Y offers one week of swim lessons for $10, a virtual steal around here and as I mentioned, the swim instructor was excellent! So, those looking for a deal for next year, watch for Splash Week sign ups at the Y.
