Starting off with about 4 inches of new snow by Friday evening, I thought we were out of luck for any sights of spring this weekend. However, after church today we decided to take a drive north and check out the tulip fields. What a sight!! The pics are from the Skagit Valley, about 45 minutes north of our home where they hold an annual tulip festival. We've heard from everyone how beautiful the fields are and, after living here almost three years, I wasn't going to let another spring go by without seeing these vibrant fields myself. Even Ethan was mesmerized by the bold colors. I think we'll have to make this an annual drive. I absolutely loved it! What a great way to close the weekend.
I had to include this last photo. We asked a passerby to take a picture of us. I thought point and click was relatively straight forward. I guess we needed to specify that we would like our faces in the picture. I guess the mud was more interesting ...

What gorgeous colors! Ethan looks so intent on checking them out too. What a cute family- even if their heads are cut off ...
I can't believe how beautiful Skagit Valley is. Kristi and I need to move to the Seattle area. WOW!! Perhaps you can give me some ideas on jobs in the area. ;) Got to love when people use 1/2 a brain cell to take a photo of a group, at least we know what kind of shoes you were wearing. :) Take care. -Trent
Wow, those tulips are stunning. Next April I'm visiting you guys.
That last picture is hilarious! When I first looked at it I thought you must have taken it with a timer -- but no...

You guys are so cute...I love all your pictures. Ethan just cracks me up...he has the cuttest expressions. I guess you have to be specific when you tell people to take a picture, I guess you have to include "of our faces"!
Quit showing off how beautiful it is here! We'd like to keep everyone thinking all it does is rain here so it won't get over populated!!
;)
You guys are just trying to show up Palmdale which could never compete with flowers like that! That is so beautiful!
what great pics and the headless one makes me laugh. Cutest family ever!
What a gorgeous day to enjoy the flowers! We went with the Nedry's 2 years ago and of course--Pouring rain!! Ethan is so bright and cheerful, adorable little guy!
Loved all the pictures (headless included)

Absolutely beautiful! I love the tulip festival and am sad we have not made it this year. Brian's Mom was just here and we planned on going, but then it snowed. We told her we could still go, but being from Southern CA, I think she was concerned about being in the cold! Any amount of snow is a big deal for most Californians!
Very cute post and adorable blog...I just came across it and laughed...go to mine and you'll see why. Anyway, your family is so cute..the tulips are georgeous...and I love the last picture of the MUD! That made me laugh....
