Ethan is so cool he has to wear shades … even in gray Seattle at 8:30pm! The other night I left Ethan to peruse his books while I fed Ava and put her to bed. I returned to Ethan obediently and quietly reading books in his room with his sunglasses on. I guess he figures he has to use them some time since he really has not had a chance to wear them during the day. Anyway, he made me laugh so I had to get the camera before he noticed my giggling.

Sunny Day in June
On one of our rare sunny and warm June days I took the kids outside to get some vitamin D while I did some gardening. Ava just loved the warm weather and her new sun hat. Well, not really loving the hat as she continually tried to get it off, but while it was on I sure thought she looked cute. She is not a big fan of crawling in the grass though. She crawls like a little stinkbug with her bum in the air so he knees don’t touch the grass. It’s too cute. My favorite is watching her and Ethan interact. I love how she just adores her brother and he thinks she’s pretty cool too.

Bowling Fun
Thanks to a great friend who finds all the deals in town, we were able to go out bowling FREE! This was Ethan’s first time bowling and he really liked it. The deal included to games of bowling, shoes, pizza and ice cream for free … DEAL! I was surprised that kids had the patience to make it through two games. Granted, they did loose a bit of interest by the last game so the parents got lots of chances to bowl. No pictures of Ava here because she was home napping with Dad.

Happy Mothers Day
Today of all days it seemed a never ending echo of my son calling me, and at times for no real apparent reason. Reminded me of this funny video posted by one of my friends. Enjoy!

Ava “MJ” Vanegas
Yes, little Ava constantly has her tongue hanging out like Michael Jordan flying in for a dunk. She’s a girl with a lot of facial expression and full of personality. We’ve already learned this girl is going to be a tough little cookie. She’s already taken some rough tumbles, all in her quest to explore the unknown, and usually just rolls over and moves on. If the fall is particularly hard and I run over to swoop her up to console her she just pushes me away and wants to get back to what she was doing. She’s also quite persistent at getting what she wants. Today I was watching her trying to get something out of our overfilled ball bin. She kept tugging on the bin until it fell over on top of her. I waited patiently to see her reaction and she just pushed herself back up, found what she wanted and crawled away. Made me laugh.
